Ir para um Pub (bar) é uma experiência bem Irish ("irlandesa"). Existe uma linguagem própria que muitos frequentadores usam. Gírias e sentenças comuns que são difíceis de entender fora do contexto ou se você não conhece aquela palavra. Por exemplo, Landlord. Essa é uma palavra antiga usada para denominar donos de um terras, mas hoje é comum usá-la para denominar proprietário/locatário de um imóvel. Por exemplo: "Today the landlord's coming here to get the rent " ou "hoje o proprietário está vindo receber o aluguel". Curiosamente, Landlord pode denominar também aquele que é dono ou dirige um pub.
A pint (essa você ainda vai ouvir falar muito se vier pra esses lados) é um copo grande com a medida de 0.57 litros de cerveja. Um copo beeem grande. É assim que eles bebem a breja por aqui. É o diminutivo para pint of beer. A pronúncia é "paint".
Abaixo estão alguns termos com a descrição. Decore tudo antes de vir para a Irlanda, rsrs, pois com certeza muitos dos seus momentos alegres por aqui serão dentro de um Irish Pub (bar irlandês). Algumas ouvi, outras achei no site da BBC, em um artigo, mas a maioria foram estrategicamente coletadas do meu amigo Irlandês que entende bem disso, o Owen. The best Irish guy ever!
